Looking for something sturdy that has decent sound/features. Would like something that has a replaceable battery of some sort. I know that the Ipod is basically a throw away unit not sure about the Dell.

Any info would be much appreciated.

dell jukebox

its an mp3 player comparable to the ipod except its for heterosexual people. the nomads were good back int he day, but i think they are a bit overpriced now? not 100% sure on that, but check out the jukebox.

For working out you dont want something big and bulky (Ipod -- Dell.... ) Try samsung. Make sure you can get one that has flash memory expansion so you can add more memory then just the base size.. Sure the ipods are great to store 30,000 song but if you want to workout with it -- functional items range in the 128megs or more.. with expandable flash memory.

Ipods are small, even the regular ones. I have one and it slips into my shirt pocket without a problem. They have belt clips and what not too. If you want small, get a mini ipod then. About the size of a credit card with 4gb of memory. They can't keep them in stock. Plus they have an armband holder for the minis for ppl who work out.

Depends on the type of workout.. Walking.. maybe. Running no. I was under the impression they had hard drives. If this is the case then the jolt of running would fuck it up. Why I suggested regular memory items over a hard drive configuration. This is in the cause i real working out.. running, jumping, crosstraining like baseball football.. vigorous exercise. hell swimming. Some of the rio and nike ones are water proof so you can swim with them.

Ipods have a 25 min skip proof buffer. I put it to the real test today. Cruising on my motorcycle doing 80 to 100 on back roads, which were hilly, bumpy and curvey. Didn't skip once. Only complaint I have so far is the sensitivity of teh buttons. You have to click a switch that disables them when in your pocket so it doesnt get changed. This is fine when exercising, not a big deal to grab it out, unlock change setting (ie volume or song) and put it back in pocket. But on a motorcycle, kind of a pain in the ass, especially when light turns green and you stop traffic cause you are switching songs or turning up/down the volume. I just flipped off the assholes who honked at me did a wheelie through the intersection like I was Fonzie. ehhhh!!!!!!!
They do have earphones with a remote control device, gonna get those tomorrow.
