Maybe it's because I live in California or maybe it's because I love tequila --but Cinco de Mayo is almost here and it's one of my favorite holidays!
For your computer-side celebrations here are a couple recipes that are a must have while playing EQ:
Guacamole
Tortilla Chips(your favorite kind or home-made)
3 ripe Avacados(slightly soft when you apply slight pressure)
Cilantro(1/4- 1/2 a bunch)
1 lime
Salsa(mild, medium or hot)
Bowl
Fork
Knife
-Chop the cilantro and add it to the bowl with the three ripe, pitted and skinned avacados.
-Squeeze ¼ of the lime(juice of a quarter of a lime) into the bowl.
-Add about ½ of a cup of salsa to the bowl.
-Mash and mix the avacados, cilantro, lime and salsa together in the bowl to desired consistency, with a fork.
Top Shelf Margarita
Patron Anjeo Tequila(or your choice of premium tequila)
Cointreau
Grand Marnier**
Sweet and Sour Mix
Lime
Ice
12 oz.Glass
Shaker
-Pour 1 ½ oz. Tequila, ¾ oz. Cointreau, and 4 oz. Sweet and Sour into the shaker(or something to mix the liquids together in).
-Squeeze in ½ of a lime into the shaker with the already added ingredients.
-Add in a scoop of ice(or add ice until the liquids barely fill over the top of the ice)
-Give the shaker a few shakes to mix together the ingredients.
-Pour the contents of the shaker into your glass.
-Float with the Grand Marnier(thin layer over the top or as much as desired)
-Garnish with a lime slice and Kosher or Margarita salt if desired
**Replace the Grand Marnier with Chambord for a raspberry flavor or Midori for a melon flavor.
