Theres a free demo for "Guild Wars" its a new game developed by some Ex-Blizzard employees. Its a mix between Diablo / DAoC in my opinon, and pretty damn fun. The Demo is only good for a few days (Until E3 ends). Beta hasn't even started but the game is pretty smooth and polished. Definatly looks promising. Im "Amer Whiteice" in game if anyone is playing.

its a pretty fun game. one of my favorite hero's in WC3 was the dark ranger. in this game classes can be set up sort of like FFXI, you have a main class and a sub class. you gain some abilities from the sub class. so to make a dark ranger just do rng/necro and you can run around shooting arrows cast siphon lifes etc. very cool. the combat/interface is almost like lineage II but much smoother. its not a bad game. course they give you lvl 15 right off the bat so you dont really know how hard it is. and it does feel like WOW, not that i've played WOW yet but it feels like it. NPC's with quests have a green ! over their head instead of yellow. quests are fast paced.

im not sure if its a necro thing as i haven't tried any other classes yet, but when you click on the corpse you gain life super fast. it really is almost like Lineage II except with a WC feel. not bad as its free montly payments i think.

Its funnest when you get to the grouping. I made a monk(healer)/caster combo and I like it so far. In groups there seem to be a lot of tactics and how do you things which influence how well you do. There is also PvP in a way where you are in a group and go against other groups defending a location or I even did one where it was 4 groups in one spot all fighting for control of the middle location. Therse also PvE stuff to do thats fun as well.

On the website it says there won't be monthly charges. Not sure how they are going to make their money to run the servers, don't see any ad's like Battle.net had.

from http://archive.gamespy.com/amdmmog/week8/:
The subscription model inherently limits the number of potential customers to a smaller group of hardcore players. I believe that there is a much larger segment of gamers out there who want to play MMOGs, but don't because of the requirement that they pay a monthly subscription fee. ... Guild Wars will not require a subscription fee, but instead will be built around an expansion model in which players can choose the content that they wish to purchase, and then play online for as long as they want without additional fees. We believe that this model is much more accessible to the majority of gamers, and will encourage more people to play MMOGs."
