The JD Application Process
Before Applying ----------------------------- Before applying, try to learn about Jade Dragon. Consider our Mission Statement, raiding times, guild focus, etc. before you decide to join us. Applying ----------------------------- If you believe you meet our requirements and would be a good fit in Jade Dragon fully complete our application and submit it. You can check with an Officer in game to make sure your application was received. Incomplete applications, or applications that ignore the instructions will be discarded. All applications are pre-screened by Jade Dragon's officers and recruiters. If they feel that you would make a good applicant, your application will be moved to a private area where all guild members can comment about their experiences with you. If there are no immediate problems, you will be contacted that you can become a Jade Dragon applicant. We are aware that Everquest has changed since Jade Dragon was first founded. Not everyone has been playing for 6+ years. Because of this we have made an ammendment to our application process. While applicants already in possession of 500+ AA's and level 85 are given priority we have decided to consider those with fewer than 300 AA's and sub level 80. This acceptance is conditional and granted with the understanding that while the applicant may wear the Jade Dragon guild tag and participate in guildchat, and experience groups, they will not be given the privilege to become a full member until the 500 raid tailored AA's requirement and the Level 85 requirement is met (and they are unanimously approved by the guild as a whole, of course!). Applicants ----------------------------- We expect all applicants to leave their previous guild before they become full-fledged applicants. At this point, if you need time to notify your previous guild, please do so. No applicant should have another guild's tag while attending Jade Dragon functions. Applicants are encouraged to attend Jade Dragon raids and group with Jade Dragon members whenever possible. You will be given access to an applicant forum, so that you can be notified of nightly events and enteract with some members and other applicants. Not everyone in the guild will read this forum. So, if you are looking for something to do and nothing has been announced, try in game tells or alliance chat channle. For raids, you should be in contact with your class leader or a mentor. If you are not sure who your class leader is, contact an Officer or Class Leader. Class leaders are there to help guide you on new encounters, suggest AA purchases, and generally guide you. They will not tell you everything you need to do every night, or teach you how to play your class. Some leeway is given so that we can judge your talent. Any person can follow orders. We are looking for active thinkers and players. Still, if you are not clear what your role is at any given event, make sure you contact your class leader or mentor. We do not expect you to know about each encounter we do. Please understand that these mentors/class leaders have been carefully chosen. They are leaders and example of what we wish all guild members to be- with their own personal flavor to add. With this in mind, insubordination or rudeness to these mentors of any kind will not be tolerated and are grounds for immediate dismisal. These one's are not there to tell you what to do, but give suggestions and examples of how Jade Dragon performs in raids. Pay close attention. If you are not flagged for a particular zone and it is possible to be raided in please be certain you are online early to ensure your raid spot and also please join unflagged channle. Applicants earn full participation points in our Loot Points system (currently hosted by DI). Applicants cannot bid against full members. If no members want an item, it may be auctioned to applicants and full members with more casual attendance. Further rules about points and bidding can be read about once accepted as a member and allowed access to other forums. The amount of time a person spends as an applicant is generally short. This duration will largely depend upon you. Try to join Jade Dragon members on raids and for experience / exploration groups whenever possible. Again, this sometimes requires direct tells. Applicant Status ----------------------------- The length of time you spend as an applicant member depends on your own effort in joining raids, being active at raids, and joining exp groups / meeting members. Some people are only applicant members for a week, while others take considerably longer. The purpose of the applicant period is for people to better get to know you before making their final decision. An up to date Eqplayers is mandatory so your progress can be tracked in your efforts to gear up, attain AA's, and better your character through other means such as void task progression. During the entire application process, Jade Dragon members will post their opinions about you in a private area. You may get some feedback such as "some people have concerns that you break mez too much" or "try to watch your heals". However, giving out details about who said what in this forum is a guild bannable offense, so please do not ask for specifics. Rejection ----------------------------- Unfortunately, not everyone who applies to Jade Dragon will be accepted. Common reasons for an application being rejected include: lack of effort (both in joining us, and in actively taking a role in each encounter), lack of play times, abrasive personalities, excessive AFKs, and poor performance overall. If you are rejected, an Officer or Recruiter will let you know. Remember that the decision to drop your application is not theirs. The decision to drop your application is a combination of guild members, class members, and officers opinions.
